Default hooking up alpine iva-d300 - driving with dvd playing?

ok... i just purchased the new alpine iva-d300 and im trying to get the dvd to play while youre driving. i wired up all the wires including the 2 wires that goes to the foot brake and also the e-brake. it makes it soo you cant drive and watch at the sametime.

my question is..... what do i need to do to make the dvd play while driving?

on all my kenwood deck i just grounded the wire. can i do the same here?

RE adjust your E brake [loosen] so you can pull/step on it 1 or 2 cliks just enough so your parkbrake light comes on, that way it is still looks legal, installing switches or bypass mods, is illegal. 94

you have to hook up the actual brake wire to the foot brake. then hook up the e-brake wire to a switch with ground on the opposite side. Press the footbrake flip the switch on off, on off and that should do it. You will have to do this everytime you turn the car on, but it is the only way.

Also on ebay you can buy a bypass box. once wired up it automaticly does it for you everytime. (search in ebay under "alpine bypass")

Well since Alpine designed the 2 step sequence to avoid this..why bother?
I guess you want to be a true baller huh? Look don't give the authorities
any more reason to take away what few pleasures we have left and ruin it for
the rest of us. Yeah I'm being an *** because of short sighted **** like this
has created noise pollution legislation,no cruising zones, window tint limitations
cell phone bans...the list goes on. But hey what do you care ...right.

Does the brake wire require a 12v or ground signal??
I know the ebrake will be a ground. I haven't installed one yet, but you should be able to just ground the ebrake wire, and send the foot brake wire to 12v ignition, or the red wire coming off the main harness.....dunno if that helps, but it can't be hard to make it work the way you want to.

this is what is says:

yellow/blue (to parking brake signal lead) - connect this lead to the power supply side of the parking brake switch to transmit the parking brake status signals to the iva-d300.

yellow/black (to the foot brake cord or brake lamp cord) - connect to the vehicles foot brake lead or brake lamp lead.

Well since YOU are trying to DEFEAT/BYPASS a manufacture's
safety interfaces...what wuld one be led to believe. Look as a member of
CEDA and other organizations,we look out for the interests of you..
the consumer. But its things like this that are counter-productive...it gives
you local legislative body more ammunition. What does this all mean in the
grand scheme of things... more fines and harassment from cops, car audio
shops going out of biz and closing up..not having the brands you want avail
to you locally or even having certain items banned outright. ( mobile
video screens of any kind is outlawed in Rhode Island ).
Just trying to paint the whole picture for you...
