Default want the bass inside

been experimenting with putting a box right in front of my sub turned sideways in the back of my jeep, it stopped alot of rattling and gave the bass a more round sound

its a sealed box firing straight into a ported box and the bass is not as loud outside as without it

im reallly exited as ive always wanted less vibration outside and when you open the doors......

my bad

i fired my sealed w3 into a ported box and outsidew the bass was weak but as soon as id open the doors

all the bass seemed to remain inside and hardly shake the back

this is what i want, so im thinking of experimenting more with firing subs into another box

im wondering is this is a 'bandpass' set up and if so how should i tell the box man to build one that will have the same efect?

ok i detailed everything in another thread ill just quote it

A bandpass enclosure will give the most gain in a limited bandwidth... but it's going to be a lot of trial and error. You car will amplify some freqencies, called cabin gain, and cancel others. This will vary on how you position the enclosure. So you'll have to play with: which frequencies to pass (by the design of the enclosure), trying it in various locations and positions in your vehicle... then either using an ear or a meter to determine if it's doing what you want or not. Typically, the lower frequencies (20 to 30hz) will travel better outside your car since the wavelengths are longer.

thankyou

ok i want it to stay inside with the windows up, so im going to fire the port from the second box downwards, if that makes sense to you...

i dunno if i'm gathering this correct, but you WANT noise and rattling outside the car?! if you ask me, the set up you're aiming for sounds sloppy and misdirected. it sounds like you just want the waves to bounce around a lot. that's asking for a lot of distortion. you might get hear a lot more noise outside and it might appear louder because of all the noise movement and rattling, but ultimately, you're gonna have a lot of conflicting waves bouncing around and you'll lose sound quality. sound is best when it has a nice neat path to follow. think about one fat kid stomping his feet inside and a bunch of skinny kids stomping inside but their footsteps milliseconds out of cadence.
