HELP: DSM 450cc + AEM Fuel Rail
Hey guys/gals. I'm currently in the middle of building my turbo lude and ran into some trouble. I just got my AEM Fuel rail and some DSM 450cc injectors and noticed that it did not fit. I searched for this setup but came up w/ no results.
Is there a way to modify the injectors to make it fit. It seems like the o-ring on the end that goes into the fuel rail is slightly larger. I dunno if I have to press harder or what....
Or does anyone else recommend someother setup (fuel wise). Currently I have the DSM 450cc, AEM fuel rail and AEM FPR w/ the Walbro 255 pump. I'm using the Mitsu 14b turbo and maybe upgrading to the T28 Sylvia ball bearing turbo.....
Thanks.

I used that exact setup on my lude. Just put a lil muscle into it and they will fit into the rail. However, the bigger oring/gasket that goes on the head will need to be shaved on the inside for the injector to fit. I just forced the hell out of mine and didnt shave it. Be careful not to break off a stud for the fuel rail.
You need to purchase a dremel and dremel out the insides of both of the o-rings. You do not want to force the injectors/o-rings into place either, that can lead to tearing. When installing them, make sure to apply engine oil (5/10w-30 is fine) to the o-rings before installing them into the intake manifold housing.
When you are dremeling out the insides, do a little bit at a time then test fit. Repeat process until the injector and o-rings slide in with a tiny bit of wiggleing. The fuel rail is probably overkill. I would have spent the money on a better turbo, but that's just me.

great thanks for your help. And yeah, I will be exchanging the rail for some much needed oil lines. A better turbo setup would be ideal, but for now I just would like some small boost until I can get this motor built properly. The Sylvia T28 ball bearing would support my needs over the 14b....for now.
