Default Poor Teg with No Legs

Went out for lunch today and as I made the first turn right out of our office complex, here is what I saw:

I'm glad that I've never left my Type R overnight for my business trips!!

ouch, that happens A LOT...saw a red GSR JUST like that one being dropped off at radley after having its rims stolen. I would rather someone scratch the hell outta my paint than leave my baby shoeless like that...its like being naked in public and you have no legs to run away.

That doesnt seem like a normal place to park a car.

Either it was stolen and wheels taken (why just the wheels then?)

Or it was a scam job made to look like they were "stolen" and not thought out too well.

*shrugs* sucks to see anyway

Actually that curb is a pretty common place for parking. When I took those pics, there were cars parked behind and in front of it.

It is in Chicago, not downtown tho. Right by the O'Hare Int'l airport. That car is from Missouri. What a "nice way" to spend the holiday weekend.

NFW! You can always get new rims and the car will be good as new, but you can't replace an original factory paint job.

P.S. Figures that username "Stumpy" would respond to a topic about a teg with no legs...

what i meant was i would rather have my car scratched (okay thats a bad example..how about clear corners stolen?)so I could drive it home then have its rims stolen and have to look at it helpless where it lay and worry about finding new rims and tires and what im going to do till then.

Actually upon 2nd thought, I can't help but wonder if stolen wheels is actually a blessing in disguise considering how much OEM wheels cost the insurance company to replace.

Hehehe...I was just thinking the same thing. Not that I would want my wheels stolen, but if someone took them and placed my car very carefully on the cinder blocks without damaging the car, it wouldn't be all that bad. Anyone know how much the OEM wheels cost from Acura parts dept.? I'm guessing just as much as a set of lightweight aftermarket wheels like Volks, Spoon, etc...

I believe they list for around $350 each, plus another $40 for the center cap. Of course, there are guys like Mike K around who can hook you up with a nice discount (like I'm guessing 20-25 percent)...
