Default Any R owners ever run an Si tranny w/ an LSD?

I'm in the market for a new R tranny, but they're so hard to find for a decent price and in good condition. I've been researching the option to run a 99-00 Si tranny equipped with an LSD. Supposedly, the gearing is identical to the R's, so add a nice LSD and final drive, and you should have a tranny that'll perform just as well (if not better) than the stock R transmission. So my question is, are any of you R owners running a setup like this that can back this up?

One of the AJR cars was running this setup.

SiR tranny with KAAZ LSD and eventually went 3-4-5 ATS gears.

Worked well on/off the track.

If you are changing the final drive then it's not even going to be an issue with the smaller diff as it will need to be upgraded.

Differential and ring gear are smaller physically, not numerically on the SiR/Si

So what will you get with a bigger differential and ring gear? Stronger?
