Why does the automatic H22a have 180hp and not 200hp?
Sportscompact Car says is has 180HP
http://www.sportscompactcarweb....html
Whats different about the automatic engine that would give it only 180hp? as opposed to 200hp like the manual.
Could it be the...
ECU
Compression
Cams
???
Can someone help out on this one?

200 is manufactured claim to the flywheel-after all accessories loses in the drive system you get 180 give or take........
200 with average 15% drivetrain loss should be 170ish to the wheels.
That is also to say the engine is in full working order
.
A auto would probably net 20% drivetrain loss which would be roughly 144whp.
I would say the h22 is "detuned" due to mating to an auto its not really meant for performance...hence it is an auto. Granted a lot of great cars have autos and have really good power BUT its a honda not a paddle shifter ferarri

with all the basic bolt ons, how much horse power you think you can reach at the wheels?
Header, cat back, exhaust, no cat, CAI, pulleys, cam sprockets, fuel pressure regulator, and i guess some ECU work done, what ya think? is it possible to drop 200+ at the wheels, i want to get this car N/A super fast...what ya think?

There is a guy in here who's got an all-motor h22 with like ~247whp and its a daily driver. I can't remember his name though.....

To get that much power to the ground he'd have to

his name is 2point6... hes done a shitload of work to that engine, and im sure his wallet has lost a shitload in the process... NA is an expensive road to take if you are lookin for LOTS of power. def fun tho!
his h22 was a 2.6 liter at one point, hence his name being 2.6...i'm not so sure if it is anymore...his website is http://www.collectiveracing.net and you can probably find out everything you want about that motor there...
a typical h22 will dyno at 165-175 whp stock...with the mods you are throwing in, 185ish is probably the most you will see, unless your motor is a little extra healthy like mine...

why stay with the auto if you want it to be super fast?

thats what ive heard as well, that some shops take the auto lb and mate it with a 5 sp tranny ecu.
