I've posted this before but I can't seem to find the thread.

Anyways, I'm throwing code 16 almost 90% of the time when I'm in full boost between 7500-8500 rpms. These are RC 550cc Saturated Injectors... built b16a on 12psi.

When I was tuning my car with Uberdata, I noticed I was over 100% duty cycle up top (high rpms, full boost). Almost every map I've seen has duty cycles over 100% in Uberdata so I'm not quite sure what's the deal. Anyways, would injectors being at full duty cycle cause them to throw code 16 (which is fuel injectors unplugged or defective)?

I've also searched and came across this:

"The ECU will set a code 16 if there is a break in the electrical circuit for the injectors. This includes ignition switch, main relay, resistors ( if applicable), injector coils, and all the wiring in between."

I did have a little black chip security system that basically had two of my ignition wires cut. I got rid of the security thing because it was just a major head ache but in doing so I just reconnected the ignition wires with but connectors. Would those ignition wires have anything to do with the electrical circuit for the injectors... and cause me to throw 16 in full boost near redline?

I'm probably going to be picking up some RC 750's soon but I'd really like to figure out what this problem is... I really want to hit up the track again but throwing this code isn't helping me since it puts my car in limp mode and I have to restart the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for any typos or sentences that might not make sense. It's late, I'm tired, just wanted to post this before I go to bed.

check on your maps in uberdata. At those RPM, that you get the code, are the values in the little boxes over 800? cause at around 800 is where the injectors are topping out. double check that, and I just skimmed your post and it looks like you might of already said that, but I'm not sure. if they are over 800, that means the injectors are just about topped out and it might throwing that code because of that reason.

 

Hrm.. yeah they are over 800. Yeah, like I mentioned in my original post.. I'm running like 128% duty cycle so it's around 820ish on the 'Grid' tab.

So, 800 on the 'Grid' tab is actually 100% duty cycle in Uberdata? Or is 100% duty cycle a true 100% duty cycle? Whenever I look at peoples .bin files on Uberdata they always seem to have close to or over 100% duty cycle. I was always under the impression that you don't want to run over 80%.

Well, I guess I need to lean it out just a tad up top so I'm not breaking into the 800's. The reason I did is because when I was tuning... lambda log wouldn't record in the 11psi column or past 8500 rpms... but it was running lean around 6+ psi in higher rpms so I just increased those last few columns that I wasn't getting any values for in lambda log. Figured I should just raise them to be on the safe side since I was running a bit lean at lower psi/rpms.

Anyways... I doubt I make any sense cuz I'm tired.

Weird thing is... when I was running my friends map, his duty cycle near redline in full boost was like 109%, which is well under 800... and I threw it sometimes... I throw it much more often now though.
