code 16 - fuel injectors help needed
When I originally dynoed the car at 16lbs of boost I would randomly get code 16 - fuel injectors. This code ONLY came on at the dyno, with over a bar of boost, and at 8500+rpm. It goes away when the car is turned off and doesn't come back so I figured meh no big deal.
6 months go by and I never get it again. Tonight I was doing a highway pull against a c5 (anybody know one with tags C5 POWER in the northern va area?) and in 4th gear at 15lbs of boost I get the code up around 8200 rpm. Turn the car off and back on its fine. I know this code is from something wrong with the wiring supposedly, but has anyone had this? I searched and didn't find much. The thing is, it always runs fine, just at high boost and high rpm I get this so it is pretty hard to diagnose as all the injectors work fine otherwise.
Anyone got any ideas?
edit:
the setup is RC 800 cc injectors, hondata 4b, fjo wideband, resistor box wired in correctly

Did you solder and shrinkwrap your connections? If you leave a sharp edge on the solder, it can poke through and intermittently cause a short. This is what happened to me. I had to go over my wiring in super close detail, but I found it.

Re: code 16 - fuel injectors help needed (Sonny)
I solder everything. Guess I'll have to double check it all tomorrow. I figured if it was a short though, it would be less predictable. Kind of odd it ONLY happens at very high rpm and over a bar of boost. I was wondering if there could be some problem with the injector that causes it to not open / close properly at higher duty cycles. On the hondata I only reach 55% duty cycle so I don't think its that, but maybe one is on its way out?

You can send them back to RC and have them tested for free. I did that after I got a few code 16's in order to eliminate the injectors as being the culprit. The only problem is that your car doesn't run until you get the injectors back.
The little pinhole that caused my problem was really hard to see....like barely the size of a pinhead. Every now and that little tiny exposed area would rub against the manifold and short. Instant code 16.

Ever fix your problem?
Sorry to bring up such an old thread but I'm getting the EXACT same problem. I'm running RC 550's (saturated) and about 13-14lbs of boost. Randomly throws code 16 when I am boosting and shifting near redline. Car goes into some sort of limp mode and I have to turn the car off and on and it's fine again. *shrug*
