Default Crappy shift linkage = missing 4th gear?

I have a 1st Gen B16 swap in my 91 CRX with a y1 tranny. The shift linkage is the "custom" cut and welded integra linkage. I bought the linkage from the shop that I got the motor from and the guy custom made the linkage for me. I did the swap myself but my boy had the shop do the swap for him with the same linkage and the linkage broke on him.
My question is, I miss forth a lot. I used to never miss forth and when I hit now, it grinds when going in, but most of the time it wont even grind, just feels like nothing and wont go in gear. Its hard to explain And also, it seems its been gettin worse with the more power I put down. At first when my motor was stock, forth felt great, never grinded or anything, seems like the more mods I do the more I miss it.

Im puttin down 161HP and 112Tq. I have HASport mounts. Im thinking maybe the motor is torquin under WOT and with the crappy linkage Im not gettin the best gear throw causin me miss forth? Sound about right?

Im no engeneer, just trying to figure this out. Sorry for so much reading, Im trying to be as clear as possible.

Thanks for any help.

Matt
