i have these vertical lines on my ls motor's wall i know there normal but on cyl #4 u can actually feel the scratch its about 2cm long but u can bearly feel it also i can feel it with the nail but bearly would this cause harm driving this car daily? i plan on turboing this motor later on say in about a year or so

 

hmmm, usually forged pistons need a larger bore so you may get away with just having it honed. You have to at least have it honed anyway.

 

still using stock pistons for now....blocks has already been honed also has new rings put in but this line bothers me because my nail bearly gets caught in the grooves

 

I would say if the hone didn't remove it needs to be bored. Just my .02

Yes, it is very important to sMOOth that out. You have to take into account that the LS already has weak spots to forced induction, why let one more be added to the equation. Spend the 20 bucks to have it honed.

 

if you can feel it, its too much.

talk to a good machine shop and see what they think.

Btw how much does a little bore and hone cost? What about resleeving? I'm planning on doing this sometime in the near future

Dude LS block is one of the best to turbo, it's pretty strong in the stock form. I never honed a block but I know it's not expesive and you can do it yourself. I'm not sure if you need new piston rings though.

 

rehone the block and see if it will come out, if not get it bored out alittle

Yeah, tell that to the rod cap bolts... I have boosted 2 LS engines in the past. I know their weakspots and the rods are one of them.
