.2 more compression. You can easily mill a B16A head to achieve that.

If you wanna turbo, B16 is the way to go

GSR head will give you .2 higher CR, better quench pads and better flow at high lift (alaniz graph)

Also, it allows you to use the GSR dual stage runner to get more midrange out of the b16. I have the setup, it works well.

stock for stock, the GSR head flows a little better, but it has the bastard intake bolt pattern. GSr has higher compression. don't use the GSR manifold. get a replacement like a S2, or type -r. Edelbrock if you plan to go FI.

If you dont want to use the GSR manifold, then dont bother getting the harder to find and more expensive P72 ECU. If you do want to use it, start looking now. If you have the motor apart, use this time to get some ARP rod bolts for cheap insurance on the bottom end. If you have the money, get the type-r valve springs NOW, so when the time comes, you can upgrade to ITR cams without any sort of valvetrain upgrade. Other than that, just make sure that you have some sort of fuel/ignition tuning device to fine tune any bugs out of the system if your using the P72 ECU. It was set-up to run at 10:1 (USDM) and suddenly it has .4 more CR to deal with, it may make for awkward power delivery. Detonation should NOT be a problem on 91+ octane.
