Spun a bearing
well today i went to acura and got a diagonosis on my ls teg and after 4 hrs of tear down time and $380 broke and most importantly, impatiently waiting, they said i spun a bearing in my crankshaft and i've only have had the car for about 4 months now and the car is still completly stock and have gotton regular maintence checkups and i was just wondering how could i spun a bearing on the crankshaft if its all stock and only had it for 4 months, what could be some possibilities of why this would have happen?

That's pretty much the only way you can spin a bearing.
Lack of lubrication. Did you run the car a while without an oil change or without oil?
The other way it could happen is if you installed the bearing wrong, but that would cause it to "spin" pretty quick, as in as soon as you started the motor....or at least very soon after that.

well yea i was thinking the same thing when i thought i didnt have oil in it but the dipstick read full, and it wasnt leaking oil nor burning, and i think i was maybe a 1,000 miles over as far as my oil change. Do you guys think that the oil pump could have went out because that could be a possibilty? And Acura are suchs dicks because they are trying to find all the reasons in the world of not paying for the estimate which ran to a ballpark range of 2400 to fix it but thanls goodness for WARRANTYS

yea they have been trying to bs me all day long but finally they gave me a rental for the weekend and then there gonna have a adjustor come out and look at it because of the large sum of money/repairs they have to do and they also wanted me to pay for the tear down fee in which that determined wat was really wrong in it. i dont have any performance parts on it and the problem is in the internals in which they cover under warranty, and do you guys think it could be any way they could get out of paying for my repairs on my car and could they find evidence that i didnt get a oil change in 1000 miles because everything looks good except for that bearing being spun
well i dont know if my oil pump is messed up, it was just a possibility or could that even be possible and if the oil pump was messed up, what would be some problems/failures that it may lead to?
curtisbeef your talking about my bearing being all over the engine right???? and as far as them fixing my car what will be done to the crank or whatever for them to correct my car and have it running great again and how long does it usually takes for them to fix it, but hey they are paying for all the charges on the rental car
oh ok. well whenever i checked the oil yesterday on the dipstick there were little specks on it as if the bearing or something was in the oil system with tiny little objects
yea thats exactly how it looks, well i hope acura resolves this problems within a couple days or so and not be dicks because they wanna see all of my receipts to when i got all my oil changes or any info to me getting my regular scheduled maintence checkups
