Crackling noise from speakers
Hey Everyone,
I have two amps wired up, one 4-channel hooked to four polk audio db650's, and one 4-channel bridged to two 12" subs. The power wire comes from the engine, through a hole in the firewall, and along the bottom of the door (ripped up the carpet) to the back. The head unit is still stock, connects to a speaker level to RCA converter, and the two channels follow the same route to the back. The two front speakers run along this same channel.
Here's my question, when I turn my music up high and it has higher tones in it (such as Linkin Park vs. 50 Cent) it starts to crackle and sound really bad. Is this because the power wire is close to the speaker wire? I never had a real bad problem until today. Sorry for the long post, just tryin to give you some kind of background. TIA.

what is crakeling? tha speakers or subs what... does it sound like tha speakers are blown or - maybe over powered... could be soemthing is grounding out...??...

This might be the problem, I had someone helping me because this was my first install, so that's the way he ran the wires. The 6 1/2's are crackling, sometimes in the front, sometimes in the rear. I'm starting to think its faulty wiring cuz the front just started cuttin out. I think its time to buy a new head unit and get rid of the stock one. Thanks though.
