I found a 1997 itr for sale, just want some input.
I found a 97 itr with 59000 miles on it, the dealer is asking 16999.00 for the car. I think that is a bit high to pay even for a 97; the car does come with AC that was added in. I spoke with the salesman twice now, he seems to know that people want this car. But other than that he knows nothing about what he has. I figure I'll offer him 15,500 out the door, do you think it's a doable deal? for a car that is roughly 8 years old it's in really great shape. Hope I'll be an ITR member soon.
congrats on the find, and good luck with the purchase. Couldnt find a type r in that year on kbb or nada guides, so i would take the 10k gsr price and add 5 to it. So, 15,000 is a fair offer, but if you are financing it, go for it for 16 or 16.5
Well worth it in my opinion. If it's a hot car that everyone wants, it's worth the extra dollar. I spent 20k on my 01 PY and i never regret it.

the things is, I'm going to pay cash out right for the car. so i think that would entice him to give me a really good deal.
one other question does anyone have good links to security add on's for the itr. I dont want this thing missing a week after I buy it.
thanks

Actually the dealers usually make money from financing, so paying cash will cost them money.

Try to get it for closer to $15-$16,000
I paid $15,000 for my 97 about two years ago with 36,000 miles (from a private owner), so I think $16,999 is overpriced.

u just got that damn thing lol
16,999 is too high IMO. If you dont buy it, Im sure someone else will so I doubt you are gonna get much lower than that. Unless the car has been sitting there for awhile and they are finally ready to get it off the lot.

Damn you got an awesome deal if it was the original owner.
If it's in great shape, $16K is not to bad.

The fact remains, they only brought like what 380 to the US in 97? You dont really have a lot of negotiating power. Also if you run some searches on theft prevention it should help. But get going fast because you got a lot to learn

its a great price at a dealership there mark up is always so high and unfortunatly they won't budge at all on the price. If its there more than a week to ten days I will be shocked!
they wont budge as it is still a very desired car
and you cant loose with CW. is the car all stock?

The dealer probably isn't exagerating about how others are interested in the car too. You should jump on this now if you are really serious about buying an ITR.
If the car is clean than offer your $15500 and they'll probably be like $16g's....

97 ITRs are very rare and hard to get.. When one comes up for sale you either want it or you dont.. I have zero regrets about my 97 R and its been the best car I have owned.. My former rides where 94 stang gt, 94 cobra, 96 GT, 98 Firebird, 98 SS vert, and few beaters.. Its worth the few extra pennies you pay.. Trust me you'll understand once you own it and drive it.. They are getting harder and harder to find also so if its clean and you like it a lot.. BUY BUY BUY...
HHEHEHE
Kevin
PS.. my girlfriend hates my R because somedays it gets more TLC the she does... LOL joking

you should also consider the region of the country an itr is being sold. if you live in a city that has a higher concentration of this rare breed, then the cost of one used would be significantly different than in another city that has less ITRs.
if there's not many itrs in your area, i'd buy it

sacramento, I wouldnt say itr's are a dime as dozen. Though they are somewhat common place around here. I just want a fun car that I can drive and I know integra's pretty well, so maintaining the car is no problem. I'll more than likely get this one. thanks for the input everyone.
dont pay more than 14k for that car. if its at a dealer, they prolly got it for 9-10g's. 15-16k is ridiculous, unless you have that kinda money and think its worth that. id say start off with an offer of ~12500 and see what happens. it doesnt cost you anything to get a good deal, it costs a lot to get a bad one.....
