i dont want to buy, but i have an del sol b16 tranny with an after market LSD (not sure which one), i believe kaaz or quaiffe.... it grinds second, and i figure its just easier for me to sell it and buy a new one.... anyway, if you want it let me know, hit me with a good offer and its yours

I'm interested in how much it would be to rebuild my 95 ls tranny, it's starting to grind in 3rd. oh and what's your turn around rate?

 

any and all labor charges are $160. Example. synchro rings install $160. synchro ring and lsd install $160. You would still need to buy the rings. LS rings are $200 shipped, thats all the synchro rings in the transmission 1-5 and reverse. Its best to replace all while our in there, because you have to pull 4,5, and reverse to get to 3rd. Its also best to catch it as soon as it starts grinding, if not you may destroy the dogs on the sleeve. Sleeves can't be bought by themselves, only as part of a whole 3/4 hub sleeve rings and gearset, which are only available from honda and costs almost 300$ just for the 3/4 ones. Thats almost 900$ to replace them all. Catch it soon, replace all the synchro rings in the tranny, run good fluid(honda mtl/gm synchromesh), change the fluid often.

you do know that they are both identical

al b-series trannies(hydro and ys1) use the same syncro's

 

B16a y21 hydros are double syncro'd for second gear. Y80 LS hydro are not, So not all hydros are the same.

The rings are different. They are all different part numbers, with the exception of 1st gear. There part numbers are different, and they all mic different.

I think my 2nd gear syncro is going bad. I am currently getting the tranny pulled to replace the clutch and flywheel. How much for the set for an h22 tranny? Is this something most any mechanic can change out?
