Default Opinions on Bixenon HID Setup

I have a bixenon hid swap for my 96 Hatchback that has black projector bezels... the headlights are the Gunmetal colored CTR lens housings and I'm debating on whether to paint the mirrored reflective surface from the original light reflecting area black or leave it mirrored. If left mirrored the bezel inside of it would be black but the rest would be mirrored whereas everything would be black if i just sprayed it. What should I do?

The mirrored surfaces are designed to reflect the light, if you painted them black wouldn't that make the lights seem dimmer since they won't be reflecting all the light?

yeah but i'm retrofitting bixenon projectors in my OEM headlights so the mirrored surface may just create excess glare with the HID bulbs in there. That's why I'm thinking of doing it black actually. I have one finished i'll post a pic of it here asap

I'm not sure what effect painting the reflective surface might have on your lighting.

Sorry to butt in with OT ****, but...

SolObsession, you need to lose my avatar. Don't say it came from somewhere else, cause I made it in PS. Quite biting douche bag.

Sorry BROCiviC. Best of luck with your setup.

hahahahaha

I've decided to leave it chromed as i stuck my regular h4 bulb in there to see what happened and it was just a minor glow around the bezel no blinding light for the oncoming cars... the lights look amazing i took step by step pics so i'll post up a little how-to and whatnot
