Nite time pics of my EP3 - Part II
Part 1 of this 2 part series can be found here.
OK, so I am the pic wh0re of the week. My "race" rims/rubber came in this week and thought I would show them off. I wanted to pick up some cheap light rims because I was scared of 0wning my Volk GT-N's at the track. Not to mention the fact that 17"s suck on underpowered cars that come with 15"s from the factory, and 17" tires are expensive, etc etc. To clear things up, they don't really have RACE rubber mounted on them. Just some sticky street tires. Here is the setup, in case anyone is interested.
15" Nippon Racing F-2's - $350 shipped on Ebay - They only weigh 12 lbs each!
205/50/15 Kumho Ecsta MX's - $356.28 shipped from The Tire Rack.
Mounting and Balancing - FREE From some dude that kicks *** at the Sam's Club on Alpine Ave in Grand Rapids, MI.
Total Cost $706.28
Not bad for some light *** rims, and some nice sticky tires!

Not bad, but 205/50-15 is too small for that car. Should have gotten at least 16's and 205/50-16, because 15's need a 60-series tire on the new Civics.
*edit* of for track use... well whatever then.

As far as rolling around town, seems a bit too small.
For any autocross, solo event those would be perfect, smaller and wider, plus they are light.
White on white is hotness!

Thanks for the comments everyone... to everyone saying they are too small, you obviously didn't read my post... And you probably won't read this one either, so I am not sure why I am bothering. But the 15"s are just for the track. These rims were not a cosmetic mod. On the street I roll on 17" Gold Volk GT-N's. More pics in this thread

Maybe... But why rock some 17lbs wheels that cost $2000, and risk ruining them, when I could rock some 12lbs wheels that cost $350?
Sure, Volk's are supposed to be "race wheels" but when it all comes down to it, I roll them because of the way they look. I can get a set of these Nippon racing wheels for less than I could replace ONE of the volks... Not to mention the reasoning I posted above.

i respect the fact that you're not faking the funk and being honest, but just to play devil's advocate, why not then get volk replica's?
