Default Help - compression test results

About 4-5 weeks ago I had a disappointing day at the dyno. I post my results and one of the many recommendations was to get a compression test done. Well I went to the local speed shop and they ran the test. They told me that my numbers were normal. Are they?
1 – 151
2 – 150
3 – 156
4 – 155

No, those numbers are low as hell. Should be like anywhere from 180-240 for stock ITR, depending on how well the motor was broken in and maintained.

A little part of me wants to say use a different compression gauge and try again.. because ALL your numbers are so low, and within tolerance of each other.

FWIW,
Mine gets 240, 230, 230, 240 and it's a stock R w/ 12 thou milled off the head.

If compression comes out low does that just mean that your stuck with a few less hp or does it mean that the motor will breakdown soon. It is my understanding that when the piston rings set, whether good or bad, they set for the life of the motor.

When they tested it, it could have leaked a little. It it hard to test with a long hose style. Get it checked again if it bothers you.

If the numbers are right, what can be done about fixing them? And how much whp is lost because of this?
