need torque!!!!!
Gain four more cylinders, nitrous, or FI. D series, or Honda/Acura motors in general do not have much torque. This is also said about many imports, but then again, a Honda/Acura with 200ftlbs of torque and an equal amount of hp can run circles around a domestic with the same power rating. Take that into consideration. - Darrell

Yep, j boy is right. A well built d-series turbo will make more torque than b16/b18c.

whats with all this if you want torque buy a different car ****, maybe 1.6 motors dont have much torque but the 1.8s, 2.0s, and expecially 2.2's do. When it comes down to it, the 110ftlbs of a 1.6 is a lot less than 130 of a 1.8, even though it sounds only a little more....I can DEFINETLY feel the difference between my d16 EF hatch and my buddies b18 ef hatch, his has WAY more torque
all im am asking is how to get just a little bit more. thats all. im not going to get a different car or listen to this stupid nonsence about hondas having shitty torque. this is a honda forum and the only response that i have gotten is about nothing. i just asked for some sound engine building advice. thanks for disapionting me again honda tech members. I want to ask again. what will give me a little bit of torque in a single cam. say 15 lbs. turbo is not an option at this time. i have heard that these motors can be stroked to 1.8's. will that help me out? no beeting around the bush.
if you are going to stroke it you might as well boost it cost is probably about the same for both. honestly you wont get alot of torque out of a d series engine. If you want to build it I would start off with some good head work and boost it like it has been said. d series engines are good for boost and some head work would do you good. sorry if this does not help but it is the truth stroking is not going to help that much.

thats why I skipped boost and went for ls..then some vtec
...unless you're thinkin about opening your pocket up, dont expect much torque from a motor like that. honda racing is quoted saying HP wins their races.

thanks guys, ive already started an ls/vtec but i was wonsering if it was cost effective over the engine thats already in my car. i think i'll just sell the d16z6 and use the money for my ls/vtec thanks
