97 civic dx hatchback..

so i was kickin it and i missed 2nd to 3rd i think or somtin and the engine reved way up then slowly went down and i put it into 3rd...it sounded bad but after that ran fine...

then the problem::::
i was tryin to back out today and i put it in reverse and let up on clutch a lil on gas and it started like crrrrrrrkk ccchchhchchc.....idk what sound jus idk...did i do anything wrong?then i tried it again and it worked fine and now does work fine

 

what's the milage on the clutch. Sounds like a throw out bearing.

damn. i dont know how you understood his explanation.

does it make any noises when you are parked, in neutral, and let out the clutch?

 

you might just not have had your reverse all the way into gear???

That has happened to me and it mad some noises like you explained

 

Yeah try putting the shifter to 4th then reverse. It lines reverse up when you do that.

 

I usually just go into 5th then Reverse, never had problems nor grinds.

 

SOUND ALOT LIKE IT JUST WASN'T IN REV. , BUT TRY PUTTING IT IN FIRST AS WELL BEFORE REV. AND IT SHOULD GO RITH IN

 

lol yea well it works find now idk..maybe i didnt have it in all the way, thx anyway guys
