so after changing my oil I went out to work on my launching. I revved to 6,500, slipped the clutch and watched the thermo drop to cold. VTEC worked fine though. I turned around and gunned it in 2nd gear...it dropped a little and kicked back up to normal operating temp....I stopped again a little ways down the road and launched again. Everything was fine. Why did the temp drop initally?

 

Sounds like something wrong with your cooling system. Thermostat and such.

 

nope thermostat is brand new...and coolant has been change and there are no leaks. What my conclusion is might be that since VTEC works off of oil pressure and I just changed the oil there might have not been any oil in whatever actuates the VTEC eng. I could just be talking out of my *** though. I tried it agian today and everything is fine...but it was a little bothering.

 

that used to happen to my friends crx with a b16

would just drop to cold every time he rev'd it out
