Default Thinkin' about gettin' a header...

I've heard over and over that DC Sports offers the best 4-2-1 header so I'm thinkin' 'bout gettin' one... I've found a good deal over Ebay and I'm ready to order it but before I do I have a question... Is this gonna be hard to install into my 1992 Civic DX? I'm kinda new to installin' **** but I'm alright at it. I installed an AEM Short Ram Intake into my car last week and I'm hyped about doin' more.

The DC is OK but definately not the best. But it sounds like you already made up your mind about getting it. As far as installing it, as long as you have some mechanical sense it should not be hard. Its just un-bolting it from the head and the cat and replacing it with the new header. It will be harder then installing an AEM short ram but it is not rocket science.

I got the OBX for $150 shipped off ebay...no complaints here...

If you want real gains from a header get bisimoto or smsp...otherwise DC will do fine, and OBX is a bit cheaper than that

Did you notice a pretty big gain when you installed it?

So it doesn't really do much?

Nevermind then I thought it would help out a little... Would I be better off buying something else?

If you want that car to have any sort of power your most likely going to have to save up for a turbo kit. But as far as buying a header its gonna help just as much as any other bolt-on if not more so I would still get it.

SOHC engines don't respond as well to headers as DOHC, it will give you some torque but its not like giving you a ton of power, its just an exhaust bolt on, which is needed, but think about saving up and replacing your whole exhaust system with 2.5" tubing with a hi/flo cat or a test pipe. or get a bigger intake manifold, there are endless opportunities on a honda engine.

I'm not lookin' to go as far as buyin' a turbo kit 'cause I'm just startin' college and I'm a little short on money but I want my car to be fairly fast and ride smooth. Thanks for the suggestion though I appreciate it. Can you recommend anything else for me?
