VTEC, Variable Timing blah blah blah, I don't get it?
Ok, this isn't really a 4th gen. question but the crx is the best car ever made so I'll post it in here.
Vtec stands for Variable blah blah blah right?
How come in japan the still say Vtec?
Why would they use English to make the Vtec acronym?
Shouldn't it be like DSLT dou sho li tong?

they use more english over there then we do here. they are obsessed with it. a kid in my japanese class in HS wore a shirt that simply said "concrete".
try explaining that to me...

When my dad played pro baseball in Japan in the 70's they were so obsessed with American words that they named one of their teams the "Dummies" because it was a popular american word.

I asked my Japanese exchange student, and he says that the use of English words is prefered sometimes because it is more descriptive. In English, you can put random words together to make new meanings. He says that it is more difficult in Japanese.
Besides, wouldnt it be rather odd to hear a ricer yelling, "Thats some mad 3rd gear moshi-moshi-flung-doo-tech!!!"
