b16 highest compression possible?!?
Ok im researching for a rebuild this winter, currently putting down 192/126 with a built b16
currently 84mm stock stroke running 11.9 wisecos ( Almost a perfect 1.7L)
playing with the idea of
85mm x 84.7 stroke eagle lightweight stroker crank ( makes around 1.9L)
my question is, for someone with experience in building motors....
is it possible to put a 13.5-14.1 comp piston in a b16 ??? people say its hard to get high compression out of the motor due to the large combustion chamber c.c's and short stroke. With increasing the stroke and running a much larger then stock 85mm piston is it conceivable that an aftermarket company such as wiseco could produce a 13.5-14.1 comp piston that would physically fit and function without P-V issues around 9,000-9,500 RPM
also people's opinions on aftermarket pistons/rods for this setup, im leaning towards going with the eagle rods , ive had no problems in the past with them and they match the crank... ( always good eh?
ive been recommeded wiseco's due to their light weight but cp makes a nice piston as well, im really concerned with weight, I Want the lightest rotating assembly possible to acheive high rpm's where all my power is.
Please dont respond with " why dont you just save money and go ls-vtec " or something else, im staying b16 and I dont care what anyone thinks about that!
