horible responce
Ok, I just swapped a b16a into my crx dx, now when i rev the engine i hear the intake take a gulp of air and it serioueley takes about a secound to even begin reving up. Any ideas what that could be?

sounds like timing to me too... when i first installed my b16, the timing was off, and i felt the exact same thing

Also is this condition occuring just during free reving the engine or durring acceleration with the engine under load? I have a 00 b16 and it revs really slow too when there is no load on the engine, drives great though.
If you have a short ram on it, it will make a loud chug sound and then rev. Its because when you flip the throttle from idle to wide open, there is a huge pressure drop in the intake. It takes a split second for the air to get through the filter and make it to the intake manifold so the engine actually has something to "inhale" and burn (rev up).

i have no filter on it currently. I just installed the engine and haven't got one perminently installed. I do have a cone i attach to the intake but it does it weather it is on or off.
