Default JL Audio watts underrated?

I have been looking 24/7 for a 5.25" component speaker for my base rsx for the front. I can't go 6.5 or else i risk having problems with the fitting. Anyways, I've narrowed down my choices to these 7 speakers which I believe are fairly good. Each pair of speakers comes with two crossovers and two tweeters. By the way, I already have a JL w6 version 1 and a jl 250/1 amp for that sub. What I'm looking for in my speakers are very good mid-bass and highs and excellent sound quality and clarity.

JL VR525-CSi 60 RMS $164
JL XR525-CSi 60 RMS $210
Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 100 RMS $186
Infinity Kappa 50.5CS 85 RMS $110
MB Quart Reference RCE-213 100 RMS $148
MB Quart RSD-213 100 RMS $120
Focal 130V2 120??? RMS $200

Just ONE last question. Does JL Audio ALWAYS underrate their rms watts for ALL of their products? I ask this because I've heard one w3v2 which is rated at 250rms and this sub hits harder than most other 12" subs which rate their subs rms much higher. Also.. the w3v2 hits just as hard as two 12" audiobahns that my friend has. so I'm wondering if the watts on their JL SPEAKERS are underrated too? Thanks for the help!!

how hard a sub hits does not depend on the RMS, otherwise some chromed out 34" audiobahn would be one of the hardest hitting sub out there.

they aren't underrated. you have to remember that many companies rates differently. JL audio gives them X amount of watts and runs them for hours. Others (like pyramid perhaps?) may only give a burst of power, but only for a second or so.

200w running for 2345345 hours is worse than 2000w for 0.5 seconds.

You need to listen to them and make up your own mind on the ones you think sound the best.

JL doesnt under rate there subs, its just there subs are more effecent(sp?).. meaning they need less power to create great sound..

the W3v2 is ratted at 300rms, and ive had one on a JL 500/1 for about 2 years with no problams..

JL XR's are very well loved, and teh ZR's are not very far behind. Supposedly they are made in the same factory as MB Quarts, and on par (or probably better, since people always complain about MB's harsh highs or lacking mids) with Reference Series.
