Default HELP ME OUT

alright i got my cd player to finally work but when i turn my headlights on it dies..and as soon as a turn off my headlights the cd player works...whats wrong...did i wire something wrong...everything works but that...thanks..oh and its a clarion if that helps any...

Did you hardwired the radio, or did you used a wire harness adaptor?
Need info.

What you did was you hooked your ground wire to your illumination wire. This is the wire that turns to 12v when you turn on your lights. Therefore, when you turn on your lights, you cut off your ground. Hook the black wire of your deck to some sort of metal behind your dash and it will work fine. Or tel me what kind of car you have and I can tell you what stock wire to hook it to.

Recheck you connetions on the wire harness. Make sure you're not using a negative dimming connection as a switch on power. If possible, use a multimeter or test light to confirm the function on each wire in the radio plug once disconnected.

Correction: 96 DX Hatch has a positive dimmer pulse, so check your wiring at the harness or there might be a problem with the radio.
