V6 2000 with 160k
Hey guys!
I just bought an Accord V6 with 160k. the engine is very quite and the car runs great. I want to change the regular engain oil to syntetic one. is this ok, what kind should I buy and what filter. I am planning to heve this car for a wile so I have no problem to spend that money.
In addition what do u think about the K&N air filters?
Thanks much! I have been reading this forum for years and you r great guys.

I think your car has too many miles to switch over to synthetic oil. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
As for the K & N filters, you can't go wrong with them. All you do is clean and reuse them.

With that many miles. you're probably better off using a synthetic blend.
K&N filters are great. You can either buy the drop in filter to use in your stock airbox or an AEM intake with the K&N cone filter.

160k isn't all that much.... if the motor is in good shape and the oil has been regularly changed in the past, then you'll be perfectly fine switching to synthetic. I switched mine from dino oil to full synthetic (Mobil 1) at 260k miles and have been using it since with not a single problem, and it still doesn't burn a drop. The only reason you should ever be worried about switching to synthetic is if you already have bad leaks or are burning oil already. If not, switch away! What's the worst that can happen? If you don't like it, switch back!
since you live in florida either stick with 10w30 or the 5w30 which is what honda reccomends.
In my opinion if you change your oil every 3k then its not necessary to use synthetic. Regular oil will work just as well. Thats just my opinion though.

Hey i have a 02 cord with about 50k on it, I used synthetic since day one, but last time tried this Royal Purple stuff. From what i read about it, its supposed to be the best stuff out there and is used for when you get on your car a little more and sometimes can help out with high milege engines. Dont know if itll work for you, but i definately felt a little difference in cold starts.

Synthetic oil is superior to dino oil in just about every way...it flows better during cold startups (read: better protection) and protects better at high temps...also doesn't break down as easily...all of this is scientifically proven....
I just switched over to Mobil 1 SuperSyn at 248,000 miles on my 91 Accord...no problems whatsoever....that whole "If your car is high mileage, don't switch to synthetic" is the biggest bullshit myth you will ever find...those people who claim the switch caused leaks don't give the whole story...
I'm at 251,000 right now and the engine continues to run flawlessly with zero leaks...
