Default IAT Mod

I have gone through the archives but no one has actually mentioned the wattage/ohms of the bypass resistor for a B16A.

Has anyone really gained/regained power with this mod? Is it helpful in very hot climates?

Thanks in advance!

hey my boy mentioned that to me not too long ago. pretty ineresting at first, theres actually a part that you can buy to have the IAT trick the ecu into running rich. i also heard it cost about $100 to $200 for it. imo its not worth it. you should use some type of fuel controller if you want enrich your fuel settings.

Well, I dont want the engine to run richer. I am interested in this mod because after warming up, my engine inhales very hot air from under the hood (SRI). The IAT often induces a massive bog - by retarding the ignition timing - which is driving me nuts! I am running 93RON fuel and the ign timing is at 16-18 degrees. There is no detonation, as I have been inspecting the spark plugs regularly.

A CAI is out of the question because of the small confines of the engine bay. A B16A in a 3rd gen civic doesnt leave much extra space!

I was pondering if a slight increase in the IAT resistance would fool the ECU into thinking that the air temp is "slightly" lower.... enough to keep it from dumping lots of fuel and retarding the timing so much. Can it be done?
