JIC coilover install: Can stock collar for brake lines fit into fork? G3 DC2
As the title states. I got the black collar for the brake lines off the oem shock and onto the aftermarket JIC coils. The collar fit on the bottom of the shock body, but I need to clamp the fork around the collar to install properly. Can this be done with aftermarket coils? If so any tips on how to get the fork around the collar? Thanks.
just make sure you have the collar on in the right direction, and get the gap in the fork to match up with the little point on that brakeline collar. That point should face down, and the little indentation on the fork should slip right over it. Also, make sure the collar is pushed up to the indent on the shock, don't want any room between the little 'shelf' on the shock and the collar.

Turns out they were lined up right. I still cant get the fork to go over the collar on either side. Any suggestions guys, I am running out of Ideas. Should I not bother using the collar? Just let the brake lines Hang?

When I have done it in the past, on both EG/DC it kind of fell into place like a puzzle. It wouldn't fit right, but eventually it worked. I think you could try using a screwdriver and hammer to try to get the collar as far up the shock as possible, then you have room to work with the fork to rotate everything and push it into place, then tighten the bolt on the fork to anchor that little point on the collar. Good luck! don't give up, if all else fails, zip ties will work I suppose, I have never had to do it though.
