Changing out a distributor
How hard is it to change out a distributor on a 95 Accord LX 2.2L 4cyl.?
I'm getting the dreaded ECU code 8 and am afraid of what a mechanic will charge.
What about timing, could I screw it up bad?

i did mine myself, its really easy, ok, lets see, you need to remove the cap (which i would change along with the little rotor piece so all three pieces, cap, rotor and dist. are new), then after that, there will be 3 2.5 inch screws on the distributor, remove those, just remember, before you take the distributor off, to mark, with white out or something, which corner of the distributor is facing you, and match that up with the new one when you put it in, that way you dont offset the timing by turning what i think is the crankshaft, someone correct me if im wrong, but yea, its really not hard at all, it takes about an hour to do and you wont have to put too much labor into it! i was decently prepared with mine when i did it, and so far so good, it wasnt too hard!
