Default Anyone have experience with the extended warranty

As we speak my cars tranny is being yanked and tore down. (It was grinding into 5th) Anyone know if the extended warranty is good about replacing parts. Otherwise what is the point of the warranty if it does not cover anything. If they bust out the "wear and tear line" I'm going to go ballistic.

With the tranny, it can go either way. If there is abnormal wear, usually due to abuse, then you are fully liable for parts and labor. If they find it mechanical failure not due to abuse or neglect, then they will most likely cover it without giving you much, if any, grief. I had a tranny replaced without question, and actually took advantage of the situation by upgrading my clutch since much of the labor would already be paid for by the warranty.

It depends. They've been both good and bad to me about it.

They fixed my throwout bearing when it was making a noise.

But they wouldnt fix my headlights when the seal went bad causing them to take in water. They said this is a wear item. I say, the bulbs are wear items, the seals shouldnt be...

i can't imagine how I'd abuse my 5th gear? unless somethign else is wrong. I drive my car hard sometimes but I don't beat the **** out of it.. I mean a tranny should be viewed much like the engine if you ask me. If they get shady on my I think I'll have to bust out the economics line "your willing to forego the 40K I'll spend on my next acura to save 3K now..." Was your warranty work under the OEM warranty or the extended one?

I dont really see how you would rip up your 5th gear either.. hopefully they will say its not from abuse, and your repairs will be done. My work that I mentioned earlier was under the extended warranty.
