i have a jdm h22a and i am burning thru oil pretty fast has anyone ever used an engine restore like lucas or any thing that helped. i am planning on replacing all the seals and bearings this winter but that is about 6 months down the road. so any help would be appreciated.

 

just add oil as needed till you change all the seals. Dont forget the piston rings

 

according to Honda, H22s can burn upto a quart of oil every 1000 miles and it still be normal

 

yup, if you sit in vtec constantly like me you will burn some oil. I add about .5 quart every 3k miles

 

could be rings or valve seats, just run a thicker oil in the meantime

 

i am already running 10w-30 i would say that it is burrning about a quart every 500-800 miles.

 

i burn about a 1 quart per 1k miles... in my 97 prelude.. and its been that way since i got it at 50k miles

 

I burn oil like a bitch, but it's my own fault!

I believe Honda ran the rings pretty loose on the H22's; hence, the oil burning. Aside from staying out of VTEC and running a thicker oil, the only thing you can really do is put in a new set of rings and run the gaps a bit tighter.
