Cam gears, do they really work?
Ive had a few people tell me different info on how cam gears work and if they really do work. Ive bought them, havent installed them yet should I keep them or return them? Thanks

if you take the time to tune your motor they will be worth it. if you just put them on and think they will make hp gains, they won't.

exactly. this is why you should research what you are buying to see if you will even gain anything from your money spent.

They move your powerband up and down...you can advance for more low end power or retard for more high end power. They are essential tuning devices, but if you aren't going to be hitting a dyno soon i'd suggest saving your money.
I saw about 13hp max increase at the wheels after having my cams adjusted on the dyno. I got the gears because of my turbo to keep my boost in the combustion chamber by getting rid of the overlap. With a stock motor I dont know how much of an increase you could see. But they do work and they arent just for looks.
yea i know. inline pro in springfield, va is going to be doing the dyno tuning for me. still having a problem with the idle surging up and down.....argh...
