To complete my Tan to Black conversion i need some help
What kind of paint do i use to paint the roof or ceiling of my car since its tan i was thinking of painting it black or gray. but i dont know what to use.
oh no i have a 2 door. i didnt know u could take the headliner off and use it again. i have a RS too so i dont have a sunroof if that makes a difference. but if i can paint it i think it would be easier. thanks for ur input though
DON'T USE that vinyl paint ****. Its just going to chip off and look like ****. Go to a fabric store and get a sheet of black vinyl. Spray some 3m cloth glue on both the headliner and the vinyl. Let it tack up for like 30 seconds and put it on. Either do this or get another headliner.
I've done a couple tan to black conversions on my tegs, and I'm doing one now with one of my friends tegs. The black interior tegs have a light grey headliner and pillars, along the small windows as well. The light tan of the tan integras aren't too far off from the light greys of the black tegs. We're talking shades here, so I'm not going through the trouble of changing it over this time, and I didn't bother buying the light grey parts either.
On the first teg I did the conversion, I painted all my pillars black with Dupli*Color Vinyl & Fabric Color black Spray paint. I first took the part off, soaped it up and clean it, then slightly sanded it with a very fine grit, then I painted it. Let it dry and painted it again. It held up well.
But I didn't paint the headliner. None of the integras have a black headliner that I know of. It's easy to take off the headliner, but I would do what nathan atwell suggests if I were to do the headliner, sounds a lot more durable.
good luck

That is very true. Even the dyes will rub off in time.
There are some cloth/vinyl distributors that can sell you the actual Honda vinyl to do the job the right way. Besure to have a good heat gun if you do this to properly stretch the vinyl or it will wrinkle.
If you need interior parts I have some.
