battery keeps in dieing out
hey guys may u guys could help me on this. last year i change my alternator out and the car was find until now. the battery die a couple months back and i got a new one from wal mart cause the car die there. so a week later i was at my cousins house listen to music for about 10-20 mins later with the motor turn off. tried to start it to go and for a ride and it just would not start. the battery light didnt come on or not. it cracked , but just didnt have enough power to start it. so we charge it for 15 mins and it start it right up. went back to wal mart and exchange a new one and it last about 1 week and the same thing happened. any ideas on what is wrong?
if you bought and installed a Rebuilt Altenator, I would check it... Start up the car, disconnect the battery, the altenator should keep the car alive, if it doesn't your altenator is bad...
Other way to check, run the car and hook up a multi-meter to the altenator outputs, see if you are getting 12v.
Otherwise, with a good battery and good altenator, you might have something in your car sucking up the juice, check your Stereo System (if you have one) or other electronics.

Get out the volt meter. Make sure it's not overcharging or undercharging for one. Also see if your battery is holding power overnight. You may have a short or some current draw somewhere. And how crazy is your stereo system? Is it just stock or do you have 600 watts feeding your 2 12s among other things. It may be your alarm as well.
