R12 or R134a.....

 

R134A.....its for 94 and up vehicles, there should be a sticker in the engine compartment somewhere that says what it takes also.

hafta have a lisc to buy R12.....and when you go to buy it, your lisc is logged into a book....thats how it used to be at my store anyways, but no one ever bought it bc its just cheaper to convert to R134a

 

I just repaired my ac an its definitely R134a, I went through about 6 cans of it.

 

it shouldnt have taken that many. did you use a guage to make sure you didnt overfill it?

 

is there any specific brand?
I found 3 cans of Johnsen's R134a on ebay for 9.99
and another let w/ a gauge and hose for 35.99...
How much pressure is needed???

 

theres not a specific brand you have to get, ive used johnsens before though and its good stuff.....i dont know where my guage is, but itll say on the guage .....low, full, danger.....something like that.....you just want to fill it up to the full, dont put anymore in.

 

i found a set w/ 3 cans and disensing valve..with no gauge...i can get that at pep boys right...what kind of gauge is it called

 

just tell them you need a guage to check your freon level....theres one that looks like a tire guage, that ones really easy to use.

 

This goes for all cars 94' and up right? So my 2003 civic would use R134a?

yup! i took an a/c course bc i used to manage a parts store, if its 93 or 94 you wanna double check under your hood for the sticker though bc car manufacturers are wierd sometimes.
