Insurance company and flood title sounds pretty serious. However, if the car's mechanically sound, would you risk the venture? Afterall, Honda's seem to hope up even in the worst case senario's.

I would check the car and get a quote from your insurance first. You never know since it was in an accident of some sort if your insurance will sky rocket. Sounds too good to be true. Don't be screwed over.
i would check the car high and low and have someone inspect it.. someone that you bring that knows what they are talking about... and do lots and lots of checks on everything, try to get the damage reports and what they replaced and for what reason... and if everything checks out and you like it.. go for it....
Also, consider if you ever need to sell it for some reason. Going to be a little harder to get rid of a flood damaged car compared to one without such a history.

Numero uno reason why I'd hate to take the risk. A damaged title (esp. a recovery) doesn't sound like a nice selling feature.

Only to the carpet? As long as it wasn't ran, I can't see any problem. Okay so you might get a bit less on resale, but you also paid consideably less. And if most of the interior is new, then you've got be hapy with that. I'd get it within a heartbeat, what a bargain!

It is a decent deal. But how straight forward and honest is the repair shop/buyer going to be? I guess it also depends on what type of water flooded the car. If the car was parked near a street drain, then it could be rain water mixed with sewege. A musty smell (or worse) could really ruin the fun of it all.
However, I'm going to bet the previous owner forgot to put the top up and a long steady rain hit it for 2 days straight.

Ditto on the Electrical shorts... didnt know i had a flooded Civic until rust started turning up in the oddest places. Would rather pick up a brand new civic than pay top dollar for electrical parts and who knows when/where the car will break down.
Maybe the money you will be saving will cover the hassle you have to deal with in the long run.

Sweet ride though.

As long as what the description said is 100% true then sure. The only drawback is it probably has salvage title which will hurt the resale value. If you plan to run it to the ground then go for it.
Be sure to check it out very well. Just as someone said above, it may be worth less, but you also paid less. Plus you will have the ability to tell the your future buyer that you have been driving it for ? years and no problems, maybe that will kick the price back up some.
