Check engine came on...car started idleing funny..help
I was at a red light when all of a sudden the car started to idle erratically and the check engine came on. I was able to drive it to my friends house and turn it off. I turned it back on after a while and the idle is normal btu the check engine is still on. I thought it might be that I need new sparkplugs. Any suggestions? I have 100,000km and I have been ripping the **** out of it lately but I wasn't when this happened.
You need to read the CEL code to determine the problem:

I'm going to guess it's a MAP sensor problem, but who knows

Worked perfectly!
Code 14: IAC Valve (Idle Air Control) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
Thanks guys.
Now my second question: how do I fix it lol? I looked at it but I realized I have no clue what I'm doing. I'll just shoot over to my mechanics place and ask him.

Check to make sure the plug isn't loose. Also, oily residue often accumulates in the IAC. You need to remove it and clean it with carburetor cleaner. Use a Q-tip on the screen. Good luck!
