HKS rocks, but doesn't that create loss of power for the S2000? there are only a few exhaust setups that actually create power for the F20. correct me if i'm wrong...but if sound is what you're after, HKS has my

you are correct but i really like the sound.... to make up for the 2hp loss i there is an AEM CAI that makes about 8hp so i'm pretty much the same as stock but with a much nicer sound

i would think that with aem cai v2, you lose about 4-5whp in midrange and gain about 2whp if that in the top

I've heard that you gain a little or lose a little with the HKS. Either way, i don't think its anything to go crazy over. I have also never heard of any loss of power with the V2, only gains (although may be little).

i am pretty sure the hks doesn't gain or lose anything..... it is pretty damned heavy too, so you don't even get any weight savings..... but they do sound very nice!

I dyno'd at 203wheel hp on a mobile dyno (the kind with the big roller) with just the HKS and some lighter volk 17" wheels on my old S2000.

S2000's are way cooler than Hybrid Civics.

This is true...however, what AEM does NOT tell people is WHERE that 10 hp will occur. AEM's intakes are notorious for creating a 'hump' in dynographs. Sure, it produced +10 hp, but only say, between 5k and 7k rpm. The rest of the powerband was barely any different.

If you were to take an AEM (regular or V2) dyno and compare it to that of say, and Injen or even a cheaper cold air intake manufacturer, you'll see that the off-brand from AEM will actually make a smoother powerband. It may, or may not, have created more total HP, but the powerband is nicer.

the AEM isn't the greatest powerband this is true but the most power does spike at the end and that is a plus for me... i actually bought the car with the aem intake and hks exhaust.... probably looking for a spoon intake / exhaust very soon

nice good choice... and welcome to the family... and yes the hks exhaust does sound nice but does lose power... so many people are trying to sell theirs.. but you are right it's only like 2-5hp of loss... and i've only heard good things about the AEM v2... but same thing goes.. the 10hp gain is just a peak and the rest is blah........ just remember regular bolt ons I/H/E isn't going to get you many gains on this car, but if you get the right combo and get an AEM EMS tuned you'll be in the money..
