like the title says...my transmission makes a weird sound when im not stepping on the clutch or when im in lower gears...it sounds like something is loose in my engine or tranny...like a clicking sound or like a screw or a bolt...but its like a constant sound so it cant be a loose screw or bolt...i dunno what it is...but its pretty loud. i have a stock cx engine and tranny...i was thinkin of gettin a z6 tranny to replace my stock cx tranny...will that solve my problem ??...

 

can anyone please help me.....??

Most times, that's an indication of a main input shaft bearing going bad.

I had the same situation, but it turned out to be the clutch disc. All the springs in the sprung hub had worn out their holders and were jingling and jangling around. I had been having inconsistant clutch engagment for a while.

 

so if i continue to drive my car like this whats the worst that can happen ?...and if i get a completely new tranny...will this problem go away..?
