I'm trying to install my new momo steering wheel. When I bought the car it came with this GT Racing steering wheel, some autozone product. I got everything off and now when I install the hub, it won't fully let me screw the nut down. That piece in the pic needs to come off and I don't see no screws to take it off. Please help.

yea that thing just slids on there the onlything i can sujest is poss pryig it off maybe

 

Try a gear puller. Don't try to just pry it off. If its frozen on there you very easily could cause damage.

 

You can either use a steering wheel puller ($19.99) or the 2-jaw puller ($29.99) from Sears to remove the hub.

That hub in the picture looks like it could use either puller.

I've used both for random steering wheel installs. The steering wheel puller was all I could use on a Toyota Celica because of the odd shape and it worked really well. I've used the 2-jaw puller to remove aftermarket steering hubs before with success.

 

Ive used a pulley-puller for mine before, works fine.
