Are 2.0 ltr engines worth it?
I'm thinking of buying a fully built 2.0 engine for my ITR. My engine runs good, but I've been told that the bigger engine will make a lot more power and pull better. Also, if I buy one, is the Hi-Tech header and exhaust the best for it?

I have $15K left over after getting wheels / tires / Mugen suspension upgrades. Why should I stay with my ITR engine? I want more power and I know that bigger is better.
maybe you should take that 15,000 dollars you have and put it in the bank or use it for a downpayment on a house... since you can't live in a car.. unless you want to
For 15k you can send me an early christmas gift for $500 and you can still have a bad azz 2.0 . Maybe he has a house guys. Who would spend that kinda cash on a itr and not own a home. I live in an apartment and still paying for my R with the a 3rd engine in it. Ill shut up there.
If you have $15K left over, why did you get an R to begin with? After the cost of the car and the upgrades, I'm assuming you had enough to get an M3 or close to a Z06. In other words, you could have bought a better car to begin with.
Yes its worth it...as the dmestic guys have always said...theres no replacment for displacment...and this stands true even with Honda motors.
What I would suggest doing however...is resleeving your R motor to 85mm...that way you still have the "better" R/S Ratio, the girdle and the oil squirters. Resleeving is around $700...which is what 2B0 short block would cost you anyway.

Also note that if you spend $15K on mods on your car, you will probably never get any of that money back when it comes time to sell the car. If you spend it on a better car, most of the extra expenditure will be retained in market value.
Or, as also noted, for most of us there are probably lots more important parts of our lives where $15K can make a big difference.

I'm not doing any of the modifications with the idea that the car would be worth more if I sold it. Anybody knows that a car that's been hot rodded isn't worth as much as one that hasn't been.
Personally, I like the idea of being able to beat BMWS with a Honda.
How about a quote on a for sure 250WHP 2.0 with individual TBs.

Thats not true either...the money statment.
The bigger engine will still make more power. People (Honda owners) liek to think that VTEC is a "replacment for displacment" or a turbo or whatever....but that that setup..and icrease the displacment..and it will make more power then before.

Look at Formula One engines...
Besides money, there is no replacement for displacement...

Why is Larry from Endyn asking us if a fully built 2.0l engine is better for his ITR?
Pure comedy.

Is woofer really Larry if so....if you're asking about the benifits of a 2.0l motor then I sure as hell wouldn't **** with you on parts or service.
You should know the answer to that question.

In 2001 I couldn't tell you 1/4 of the stuff I know today.
I wouldn't hold what Larry, or anyone for that matter has to say against them if there is a huge time gap, 2 years is a very long time in terms of learning.
