MF-1 construction update, 19.5% complete
yeah! While I didn't get to torque down all the bolts, the rear suspension and brake lines are in place. I even have a pair of spare wheel cylinders and brand new brake pads for when the ones that Uncle Catch left on there wear out...
Now for the bling:
Mugen rear trailing arm bushings

Good over all view. Shock by Koni, springs by Hyperco, upper control arm and lower tie by SBMS, brake lines by Earl (via OPM) and sway bar by Suspension Techniques.

Close up of the SBMS upper - offset bushings at both ends = negative camber galore.

End links from below - not very happy with the angle, will try to **** with when tightening it all down

View from the *** side.

Hopefully I can thighten it all down before I leave for vacation, I'd like to get some wheels on it to see how much neg camber Iend up with.

thanks. I am hoping to get the car running by the fall. We'll see if that materializes. It would only be about 1 year later than originally planned...
Good luck on the endlink angle of that ST rear bar. The bar pissed me off so much that I sold it. Plus, it was a boat anchor to boot.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want so much rear camber in the back?

we'll see how well the bar works. It seems to be pretty much standard issue on civc/crx. As far as the negative camber, i've been told it worked well. If it doesn't, I can always put back the stock control arms - but the person I have gotten the information from seems to know what he's talking about. Time will tell.
My whole design process was: "find out what works from people it has been working for." We'll see how well that logic works out.

Everyone that has recently tried to write a new chapter on EFs has ended up wasting alot of money and going back to what the good book already said. There's years of other folk's development in these cars, so why waste time and money.
Want to do that? OK, Build an ITA Neon or Sentra SER. Its time for somebody to start writing that book.
Good stuff Seabass, but you won't want any more than 2 degrees in the rear. 2.5ish in the front and about 1.75 to 2 in the rear is sweetness.
And my ST rear bar doesn't line up with the endlinks like that. Mine is straight.
Double check your install and make sure everything is squared up.
If you do the double SCCA school at Roebling in Feb I'll crew for you. Looks like I'll be there with Shultz anyway.

Your pics are bringing back fond memories of prepping my EF before last race season. I'm still on stock control arms and bushings though... how much work to get in the m00gen bushings? I've been thinking of getting them from OPM. But this weekend is ATS 4.7 and OPM LSD tranny install
for the moo-gen bushings, you have two options:
1- 10 minutes with a sledge to get the old ones out and use your own press to put the new ones in
2- pay $50 to a machine shop to do it for you.
I did both 1 and 2... live and learn (I don't have my own press and couldn't hammer the new bushings in without risking damage)

yeah, all the bolts are still loose, so I will try to adjust before tightening it all down. I am writing down those camber numbers and will shoot for those.
I am hoping to get a school in before feb (hoping is key) - and I need to extend my novice permit anyway - I got it almost a year ago.
BUT if I go to Roebling, I will take you up on that offer, no doubt about it. thanks.
<going to pack for a god-awful vacation, in france, with the in-laws, and the guilt trip starting already from my own relatives (not spending enough time with us, etc.) - I hope they still serve free booze on the plane!>

Last time I flew Air France across the big water, they gave us a free small bottle of wine with our meals but I was in cattle class as Koni wasn't going to pop for the more expensive seats with the real free booze.
If you are going through CDG airport, be careful walking through the tubes and run if you hear cracking noises. I'll bet it is less confusing there if you speak the language. Send out regards to Lance Armstrong!
