Clutch disc question

Default Clutch disc question

I just tried to put my transmission and engine together but I realized it wouldnt hook up. So i go to take the disc off and try it on the trany and the disc doesnt fit. Its a ys1 cable tranny from a ls and a exedy organic clucth kit. Its really buggin me out and i dont know whats going on. does anyone know whats goin on?

Theres 2 different applications one for 90-91 teg, and another for 92+. Sounds like you have the wrong disc. The pressure plates are the same though. Ryan

err, you mean 92+ right?

I checked the model # I have against the one on options auto where i bought it from and its the one for the 90-91 ys1

sometimes they are just a little stiff and hard to get in. try giving it a little extra nudge and see if it fits.

Well since you said the clutch you have is for a 90-91 ys1 I would say the transmission is a 92+ ys1 which uses a different disc than the 90-91 clutch kit. I would send the clutch back and get a 92-93 ys1 clutch kit.

the discs are different one is 12 spline (big spline) and the other is a 24 spline you probably need the 24 spline for your tranny count the splines the the shaft then get the right one. hope that helps

Will there be a problem if I use a 6puck ACT disc with my exedy pressure plate? This is for a 92 ls ys1
