Why do k20 when you could buy damn near three H22's and trannys and have money left over.

why would you go K20 in an Accord? if your looking for a new k series swap into an Accord, K24 is the way to go. leave the K20 for the civics and the integras.

It would be really expensive to swap in, and why would you swap in a smaller motor?

Here is the rule:

You never, ever, ever, swap a smaller motor into a car than what it came with from the factory.

check out this site they've got K20's for 5450.00 which i think is less that 3 times the price of an H22. I say to the K20 swap, won't be too many around with an rsx engine. http://www.jspecautosports.com

Why's that? Is it a weight issue? If so, just add some weight to the front end. The k20a4 has more power than the h22, and will be more common in the coming years as the h22 dies out.

usually because a smaller engine produces less torque and if a car came with a bigger engine from the factor, then it prolly had that bigger engine for a reason

k20 won't generate enough torque for accord chassis. too heavy. might i suggest a k24 block with k20 head?

The TSX has a K20 and not a K24, which is in the Accord. Someone verify this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

good luck with the uncharted water adventure

I am sure you can, but how well will it run, i dont know.
how much will it cost? how long will it take?
unless slicing harness, cutting and welding is your game, i would strongly sugguest the good ole' h22.

not to mention the source of the motor is expensive, once you break a part, you'll have to get it at premium price. Good luck having it run right.

i think 20 of us already mention why swapping a small motor than the one you have is a bad thing.

if you happen to get it running and not cost a fortune while making some good number, consider yourself the K series boom inventor

im pretty sure you are wrong, K20 in RSX, K24 in TSX and the new accord has a V6 not a I4 so im not sure what code it is. and the TL has a V6 as well and im not sure what that code is too.

The US TSX has a K24A2, the new Accord comes with a K24A4 (as well as a V6).

The K24 is the way to go here, Hasport will be working on a swap kit for the Accords soon. Look for a release around SEMA.

Well why would you ever want a smaller motor? Lets ask the opposite question, whats the benefit of a smaller motor?

Nothing.

The k20 does not have more power than an h22a.

The only K worth considering is the K24 from the TSX, or a k24/k20 head combo. Otherwise, you are wasting your money.

Just read the SCC article on this. An '02+ CRV block (K24A1) and Type-S head (K20A2), and the power peaks 20 whp/31 wtq above a stock Type-S, and the gains are at least 10 hp throughout the entire RPM band. The TSX block would produce better gains, but its extremely expensive and rare compared to the K-series CRV engines.

Here's some good info about the engines I pulled outta the mag.

JDM Integra / JDM Civic Type-R (K20A) CR: 11.5:1
Acura RSX Type-S (K20A2) CR: 11.0:1
Acura RSX Base (K20A3) CR: 9.8:1
'02+ Honda Civic Si (K20A3) CR: 9.8:1
'02+ Honda CRV (K24A1) CR: 9.6:1
Acura TSX (K24A2) CR: 10.5:1
Honda Element & '03+ Accord (K24A4) CR: 9.7:1

And I know I'm excited. Any pics of the prototype or project Accord?
