I'm trying to figure out my 99 EX tranny, and I have something that doesn't quite look right. For 1st/2nd gear, and 3rd/4th gear, there is a 'slider mechanism', I think it's called the synchro sleeve, that the shift fork fits around and when the tranny changes gears, this slides up or down, depending on the gear. There is also one for 5th at the very top of the mainshaft. Is this one supposed to slide also? There is only one synchro, which is below the synchro sleeve. Sorry if this is all hard to understand, if I can clarify in any way please let me know. I'll try and get a pic up in the next half hour or so. TIA.
