What cams are using and why do you like them

 

i vote for stock, but it is not a choice.

 

The best cams for your motor depend on what mods you have done, and compression. Bigger cams need more compression otherwise you bleed off the compression with the overlap.

comptechgsr-dang 182 hp?! Got a dyno? i'd love to see it. I'm assuming you have the toda valvetrain too?

 

i'm waitin for my charts to be emailed to me, by xmas with the skunk2 itm, i'm hoping at least mid to high 180s...

 

are those all the mods you listed? if so, damn, you got one strong *** motor!!

my car made 176 whp with i/h/e and ITR cam with tuning. 182 whp with B's ain't impressive. maybe they are not tuned???

 

u definitely need more compression and u should be in the 190's.

 

well spec B's don't make that much more power than ITR cams. Only after 8000 rpms is when it starts beating it. I'm assuming comptechgsr doesn't have an upgraded ecu to take advantage of a higher redline. dang...if you got 176 with i/h/e and itr cams with tuning, i'd say you have a strong motor too. I've seen alot of gsr's with i/h/e and they only pull about low to mid 150's. Can changing to itr cams with tuning really add 15-20 hp?

well if the guy's running 12's (see his sig) w/ his 182 whp, then he's got the power in all the right places which is very impressive. Peak HP is good for bragging rights but does not necessarily mean a fast car.

all i have for tuning is Plus and minus 2 for cam gears
leaned out idle with vafc by 28percent
vtec x-over @ 6700


i wanna hit high 180s with the Skunk2ITM

and high 190s or higher with an 11.6CR

 

it all depends on compression ratio or if you are running nos or boost. but I like spoon cams
