Brand new B17a dumping fuel
I installed a freshly rebuilt B17a into my 1991 Integra LS and did an auto to manual conversion at the same time. The B17a has CTR pistons and Supertech valvetrain but is otherwise stock.
The wiring harness is from my B18a and I am still running the stock OBD0 PR4 ECU.
The fuel rail and regulator are brand new ITR components. The fuel injectors are freshly rebuilt OBD0 units from RC. I'm still using the resistor box.
I've used the PGM-FI test harness to verify that every pin is going to the right sensor and that every sensor is showing the correct values.
The car seems to be dumping huge amounts of fuel into the cylinders. The sparkplugs look like someone spray painted them black after a few seconds. The car will not hold an idle and misfires at higher RPMs. There is heavy black smoke coming out of my exhaust when I turn the engine over. The plugs smell of gasoline. I'm using NGK BKR7's and have tried .04" and .035" gaps with no difference. New plug wires, tried two different distributors and verified TDC/CYL/Crank sensors.
TIA.

imo, sounds like your MAP sensor isn't hooked up correctly.
Are you getting any check engine lights at all? if so, what codes are being thrown?

Hi Katman,
I got a hold of the PGM-FI test harness and checked the MAP sensor and the voltages seemed fine. I've tried swapping the MAP sensor (I have three) with no change.
I'll recheck my soldering since I was going to use a throttle body with the MAP sensor mounted directly. I've switched back to my stock DA throttle body and firewall mounted MAP sensor. The harness extension wires are still there though.
No ECU codes other than EGR since the car used to be an automatic with the OBD0 PR4 ECU.

sup.
so wait, yer driving your B17 on an AUTO PR4 ecu, eh?
I think that might be your problem. Try and locate an OBD-0 PR3 ecu to use instead.. or are you planning to convert to OBD1?

I switched back to the Auto OBD0 ECU and wiring because everyone though it was a problem with my conversion harness. The car runs the same with the Boomslang harness and USDM P30 and P61 ECus as it does with the Auto PR4.
I removed my MAP Sensor wire extensions with no change in the results. I'm getting 5V at the Yellow/Red, Green/White is a good ground, White is 2.8V with the ignition on and MAP sensor plugged in and 5V with the MAP sensor unplugged.
I put vaccum on the MAP sensor and the White wire voltage drops as it should.
I also tried my two spare MAP sensor and get similar voltage values.

To add:
I finally got the fittings to install my Fuel Pressure gauge yesterday. The stock USDM ITR regulator shows 45psi with the vacuum hose off and ignition turned to ON when priming the system.
