what do u think
I blew my 99 civic Ex engine and since I am putting in a new one i figure i should add I/H/E, hi-flow cat, and an underdrive pulley. Im just waiting for them to come in now. The questions are...how much horsepower could i hope for....MAYBE 20hp? also, since the engine will already be out of the car, how much should i be expecting to pay for these components to be installed? and i know many of u are thinking to boost or swap an engine but spare me those comments...
I bet you can put a turbo in your car for the same price as all those components added up. But since you don't want to hear about that option, ya, about 15ish horsepower.

i'm guessing it's the same motor?
Intake, header, and exhaust, hi-flow cat, or underdrive pully, you can do it FREE yourself if you know how. I wouldn't bring it to a shop because the labor works kills $$$. Get some friends to help you out is a great idea!

i almost put a different engine but then i realized that i wasnt going for speed. plus it was more expensive..one of these days i might/probably will put a better engine but this car as it is has to get me through college. i know i could probably do it myself but when it comes to engine work i rather be safe then sorry. plus i really dont have the time.

i think this is a good idea, about half (probably more) of what you pay a shop to do is labor costs. Plus you get to learn to work on your car
The labor might cost you as much as $500, varies from shop to shop though. A good price, that would make me have the shop do it would be $100, but they'll most likely charge you much more...not worth it imo. Plus you get to make sure the work was done correctly
oh yeah, the question at hand:
i'd say 10-15whp, 15 being VERY generous on a stock sohc and those mods. It really depends on the motor though. You'll notice a difference though.
